When a customer electronically signs the document he sees the document on a full-size screen. He can view it and sign exactly what he sees. The organization may print out a hard copy for the customer's records while saving only the digital copy for its own archive. The digital copy is electronically sealed using encryption methods and cannot be modified.
Business today is for the most part paperless. The missing link is customer facing documents that are signed even today using wet ink on paper because of authentication, repudiation and admissibility concerns. The VPSign Solution Suite addresses all these concerns and allows any enterprise to become paperless for customer facing signed documents.
Even in a well-managed paper document archive, both storage and retrieval of documents takes valuable time. The human factor may lead to imperfect maintenance of an archive followed by longer document retrieval times or even misplaced documents. This costs money and degrades customer satisfaction.
Documents with a legally valid electronic signature make paper-based document storage obsolete. Immediate savings are realized for printing consumables such as paper and toner. No space is needed for paper archives. Employee time is saved in many ways: electronic archives require almost no maintenance; no more searching for mis-filed documents. No transportation or courier costs in moving paper documents around the organization.
Electronic forms are filled out precisely, without having to be reworked or returned for a second signing session with the customer. If a contract is ever challenged, rock-solid evidence is immediately and electronically available to discourage the customer from even beginning legal action. Deals that may have slipped away due to mishandling paperwork are now closable on time.
By becoming paperless we are helping our environment. We save paper. We eliminate fuel costs used to transport paper documents. We no longer need to dispose of toner and ink cartridges. Go paperless, go green.
Security measures provided by the VPSign Solution Suite make signature forgery practically impossible compared to other electronic signing methods, and even when compared to traditional "wet ink" signed documents . Biometric and graphology methods implemented in the VPSign product record a signature whose authenticity is superior to paper, and certainly to various electronic methods such as "I Agree" buttons.
In most developed countries there is a law of Electronic Signature based on similar principles:
The signer must shows intent by applying his signature on the electronic screen.
The signature must be unique to the person using it.
The signature must be verifiable as belonging to the user.
The signature must be under the sole control of the person using it.
The signature must be attached or linked to the document in a way that authenticates the integrity of the electronic signature and document contents.
Handwriting Specialists may be called to determine the authenticity of a hand written signature. Handwriting analysis is based on specific properties: pressure exerted during writing, deviations from a continuous line, the velocity of the pen and others.
A VPSign captured electronic signature provides advanced graphology identity indicators of personal handwriting and constitutes powerful evidence in case of legal action.
Despite Internet-based customer document processing, organizations need to effectively deal with a customer physically visiting an office to sign papers. Because of authentication, repudiation, compliance and admissiblity concerns organizations remain paper-based for face-to-face customer meetings. The VPSign Solution Suite provides an electronic paperless environment for physical customer meetings. The electronic environment is intuitive to the customer and mimicks signing wet ink on a piece of paper. The electronic document is authentic, non-repudiable, admissible and compliant with statutes and practices.

Health Care providers are embracing electronic document usage more and more, especially in the light of legislation such as HIPAA in the United States.
Paper signed records often require great efforts for location and retrieval as health care facilities need to administrate parallel archives for the same patient.
Legally valid electronically signed document leads to a unified record storage system as they can now be stored along with the rest of the electronically generated patient information. |

Government departments, government agencies, municipal authorities, and similar administration units are burdened with huge and ever growing quantities of paper.
Most citizen contact with governmental authorities is linked to a signature: an application for a driver's license, a request to re-assess property values, a renewal form for a passport—all require a signature.
Public administration archives must deal with huge volumes of paper, often for a mobile constinuency that would require document retrieval at a different location. The VPSignTM Solution Suite allows government offices to comply with federal requirements for paper reduction, while improving customer service but not giving up the legal force of the signed documents. |

Legal documents are in transition to electronic format with many court systems accepting or requiring electronic filing. Law offices are becoming more and more familiar with the advantages and benefits of electronic documents. However, signed contracts still remain an area where hard-copy contracts are managed and archived manually.
The VPadTM signature tablet allows law offices to become completely electronic since contracts are signed electronically instead of with pen and paper. In most law offices, a huge amount of office space is occupied by volumes of legal documents. These can be replaced by electronic archiving which eliminates the need for floor space - often in high rent districts- and allows for immediate retrieval of client files and contracts. Mis-filing of paperwork is no longer possible.
The VPad signature tablet also significantly shortens the signing process since there is no longer any need to initial each page. A document signed and sealed with the VPad signature tablet is tamper-evident making it impossible to replace pages within the contract without detection. |
