When a customer electronically signs the document he sees the document on a full-size screen. He can view it and sign exactly what he sees. The organization may print out a hard copy for the customer's records while saving only the digital copy for its own archive. The digital copy is electronically sealed using encryption methods and cannot be modified.
Business today is for the most part paperless. The missing link is customer facing documents that are signed even today using wet ink on paper because of authentication, repudiation and admissibility concerns.
